Responses to the Bank of England’s March 2020 Discussion Paper on CBDC

Would anyone care to TLDR what A Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) would actually mean for most normal people?

For most people? Nothing, you’d continue to use a bank with what I’ve read from that, because it sounds utterly useless

Oh, I guess for the wealthy, 100% finance protection unless the BoE goes bust, but they talked about a tiered interest rate with it going negative at some point in there along with a lot of other things

It’s just not well put out and they didn’t really put many ideas for it out there

Personally I think programmable money is a good idea if you implemented it with an escrow service
