Do they even understand how crypto works? You don’t need a company to transfer it for you and nobody can stop you creating a wallet. Crypto = freedom.

Already has. I don’t get it considering retail (in-person) has never required collecting names etc

Actually, it sort of has.

In some EU countries, France is one, there is a maximum amount you are allowed to pay in cash for. This is designed to prevent money laundering through untraceable methods of payment.

There is more on it here, although the bit about the U.K. is wrong (it is non-Bank of England notes which technically aren’t legal tender, Bank of England notes are legal tender up to any amount):
